Hi everyone, the birds are all having their weights dropped now, starting their training, increasing their fitness ready to fly free around the farm once more. Restrictions are still in place around some High Priority sites re Avian Flu, but I checked and I'm okay around Axminster......so flying time here we come!
The Falconry Club is proving to be really popular and I apologise to those children who are still on a waiting list to join. However, I have recently taken on 3 adult helpers who are trained in falconry and some of which have helped me before - just awaiting their DBS forms to come through before I start adding more children to the club.
I am offering 2 afternoons during the Easter Holidays and 5 afternoons during the summer holidays for children aged 6 to 16years to have a go at falconry. Check out the website for more details - booking is essential on these afternoons as I have to restrict numbers.
Rosie has now decided to come off her eggs so I can start to reduce her weight now and get her flying this year at Trill - yippee!! Really looking forward to flying little Inca the Kestrel again this year and so looking forward to seeing Artemis the Buzzard up int he thermals.
Khan my Gyr/Saker falcon is doing well after his Aspergillosis infection - hoping to have him up flying by the end of this month too.
If any of you are popping down to Trill on a Wednesday or Saturday for Chris's amazing lunches remember I am offering a one hour handling session or hawk walk after your lunch at a special price - see website for details.
Busy time ahead now so I'm off to clean the aviaries!!!
